Fruit ripening is an irreversible process that leads to the alteration of the physicochemical characteristics to produce an edible of desired quality. However, excessive softening during ripening poses a challenge in the transportability and marketability of this economically important fruit crop. Although studies have carried out the RNA-Seq analysis on mango during ripening, there is no report yet utilizing mangoes grown in the Southeast Asia (a large producer of mango), hence this study. The results provide important insights that will be useful in future strategies to improve mango fruit quality
