Description |
Kawasaki disease (KD) is the most common cause of acquired heart disease in children in developed countries. Based on single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), we profiled peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients with acute KD before and after intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy and from healthy controls. We identified the dynamics of cell abundance, gene expression patterns and biological processes underlying the immune dysregulation of each cell compartment. The single-cell landscape of both innate and adaptive immune responses provides new insights into pathogenesis and therapy of KD. |
