Title The flying spider-monkey tree fern genome: Insights into fern evolution and arborescence
Relevance Evolution
Data types Transcriptome or Gene expression
Genome sequencing and assembly
Organisms Alsophila spinulosa
Alsophila costularis
Description The genome of Alsophila spinulosa was estimated to be 6.23 Gb in size and have a heterozygosity of 0.28%. Our de novo genome assembly anchored 6.2 Gb sequences onto 69 pseudo-chromosomes, with Contig N50 and scaffold N50 of 1.80 Mb and 92.48 Mb, respectively. The A. spinulosa genome provides a unique reference for inferring the history of genetic diversity, secondary metabolite biosynthesis, evolution and adaptation of tree ferns.
