Description Jute (Corchorus sp.) is the most important bast fiber crop, however, little progress has been accomplished in its genetic improvement. Herein, we assembled a new higher-quality reference genome of jute species Corchorus olitorius (C. olitorius) compared to previously release. Herein, we have integrated multi-omics to clarify the genetic basis of adaption, breeding and important agronomic traits in jute of as an early breeding model crop.
