Title Divergent originations of parental DNA hydroxymethylation in human preimplantation embryos
Relevance Medical
Data types Raw sequence reads
Organisms Homo sapiens
Description Epigenetic dysregulation is associated with human infertility and abnormal embryonic development. One important epigenetic modification is DNA 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC), the conversion of methylcytosine (5mC) to 5hmC by TET enzymes. However, the role of this modification in early human embryos remains largely unknown. Here, we present a single-base-resolution map of 5hmC during human preimplantation development.
