All mice used in this paper are in a predominant C57Bl/6L background. Mice were divided into four groups, 15 mice in each group.The mice were housed in a temperature controlled, specific pathogen free environment, with a 12 h light/dark cycle. Drinking water was supplemented with antibiotics cocktail (0.2 g/L of ampicillin, neomycin, and metronidazole and 0.1 g/L of vancomycin) for 2 weeks, every other 2 weeks, until the end of experiment, to deplete the gut microbiota. Feces were taken from all mice at 15 weeks. |
