- Description: There has been evidence that RNA editing may vary between strains of measles virus(MV). Differences in editing frequencies could result in variation in the relative amounts of the P and V proteins. Because P is a required co-factor for replication and V acts as an inhibitor of innate immune responses, changes in the levels of expression of these two proteins could affect the pathogenicity of the virus.
