Title:
Systematic profiling reveals betaine as an exercise mimetic for geroprotection (scRNA-seq)
Release date:
2025-06-19
Description:
In this context, we performed multi-omics profiling of blood components (i.e. peripheral white blood cells) and fecal samples collected before and after a controlled bout of acute aerobic exercise or a long-term 5 km jogging exercise every 1-2 days. The goal was to characterize the detailed series of events that occur in response to acute and long-term exercise and understand how they relate to fitness measures. Our deep profiling, including single-cell transcriptome of blood cells and gut microbiome, revealed the molecular changes in response to aerobic exercises, exhibiting the similarities and differences between acute bout exercise and long-term exercises, and illustrating the complex interplay between biological processes underneath.
