Progressive and Concordant Alterations in Transcriptional and Gut Microbiota Across Aortic Valve Calcification Severity
Release date:
2025-11-17
Description:
This study explores the pathogenesis of calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) by integrating RNA-seq data from human aortic valve tissues with 16S rRNA sequencing data from matched stool samples. We included patients with non-calcified, mildly calcified, and severely calcified aortic valves. Our analysis reveals stage-dependent transcriptional changes in the valve and corresponding shifts in gut microbiota composition, suggesting a potential gut-heart axis in CAVD progression. This resource enables further investigation into the molecular and microbial drivers of aortic valve calcification.
For each controlled access study, there is a corresponding Data Access Committee(DAC) to determine the access permissions. Access to actual data files is not managed by NGDC.
