BCAN-AS1 functions as a tumor suppressor in cervical carcinoma via targeting miR-769-3p/PPWD1, providing a potential promising therapeutic target for cervical carcinoma.

Annotated Information

Name

Approved symbol:BCAN-AS1

Approved name:BCAN antisense RNA 1

HGNC ID:HGNC:55233

Alias symbol:RP11-284F21.9

RefSeq ID:XR_922175

Characteristics

Function

BCAN-AS1 directly interacted with miR-769-3p and functioned as the miR-769-3p sponge. xenograft tumor model re- vealed that overexpression of BCAN-AS1 inhibited tumor growth of cervical carcinoma invivo.[1].

Expression

BCAN-AS1 was down-regulated in cervical carcinoma tissues and cell lines. Overex- pression of RP11-284F21.9 inhibits proliferation, invasion and migration of cervical car- cinoma cells in vitro[1].

Regulation

BCAN-AS1 that was down-regulated in cervical carcinoma tissue and cell line.[1].

Diseases

  • Cervical carcinoma[1]
