Annotated Information

GCASPC decreases the protein level and activity of PC by inhibiting its protein stability[1]
GCASPC is a target of miR-17-3p[1]

Approved Symbol

GCASPC

Approved Name

gall bladder cancer associated suppressor of pyruvate carboxylase lncRNA

Synonyms

"TCONS_00011605, RP1-56L9.7-001, lnc-SOD2-1"

Chromosome

6q25.3

Disease

gallbladder cancer

Characteristics

GCASPC is a long noncoding RNA and it is located within the intron of insulin-like growth factor 2 receptor (IGF2R).[1] Subcellular fractionation analysis reveals GCASPC is mainly located in the cytoplasm of gallbladder cancer cells.[1]

Expression

Compared with the non tumor tissues, GCASPC is down-regulated in gallbladder cancer tissues.[1]

Function

Gain and loss of function studies in gallbladder cancer cells shows that GCASPC can suppresses gallbladder cancer cell proliferation.[1] GCASPC decreases the protein level and activity of PC by inhibiting its protein stability.[1]

Regulation

GCASPC can be directly targeted by miR-17-3p.[1]
