Name
Approved symbol:RCAN3AS
Approved name:RCAN3 antisense RNA
HGNC ID:39009
Previous name:RCAN3 antisense
Alias symbol:TCONS_00001428
RefSeq ID:NR_045408
LncBook ID:HSALNG0001716
Characteristics
RCAN3AS belongs to the human RCAN gene family.[1] RCAN3AS overlaps in part with exon 1a.[2]
Function
RCAN3AS inhibits HUVEC proliferation both basally and under VEGF or phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate-stimulated conditions, however it does not modulate gene expression of the chosen inflammatory genes.[1] RCAN3AS 5′UTR and of the shared downstream coding sequence indicates a possible 5′UTR different use, due to a specific regulative role.[2]
Regulation
RCAN3AS inhibits inflammation by regulating calcineurin.[1]
Expression
RCAN3AS plays an important role in inhibiting HUVEC inflammation and proliferation.[1]
Diseases
Inflammation[1]
