THUMPD3-AS1 is highly expressed in the ischemia-reperfusion injury model. THUMPD3-AS1 participates in the development of ischemic stroke by activating PTEN and inhibiting PI3K/AKT pathway [1]. PI3K/AKT pathway participates in the regulation of cell apoptosis, survival and proliferation via targeting downstream genes, including Bad, caspase and NF-κB [1].
