From LncRNAWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

UNC5B-AS1 plays an oncogenic role in breast cancer cells through activation of the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, being a novel RNA oncogene. [1][2]

Annotated Information

Name

Approved symbol:UNC5B-AS1

Approved name:UNC5B antisense RNA 1

HGNC ID:45096

Alias symbol:UASR1

RefSeq ID:NR_038453

LncBook ID:HSALNG0078695 pubmed_id 30805847|31205563

Characteristics

location:10q22.1[1] UNC5B-AS1 is 647bp in length consisting of two exons. This lncRNA is an antisense of intron 1 of unc-5 netrin receptor B (UNC5B) gene.[2]

Function

The lncRNA UNC5B-AS1 promotes proliferation, migration, and invasion in papillary thyroid cancer cell lines.[1] UNC5B-AS1, plays an important role in tumourigenesis and metastasis of PTC.[1]

Regulation

UNC5B-AS1 activated AKT and AKT-mediated mTOR signaling pathway to stimulate cell proliferation and growth.[2]

Expression

Breast cancer cell growth promoted by UNC5B-AS1. [2]

Upregulated UNC5B-AS1 correlated with lymph node metastasis (P < 0.001), tumor size (P = 0.002) and histological type (P = 0.013).[1] Ectopic expression of UNC5B-AS1 promoted proliferation and clonogenic growth of breast cancer cells MCF7 and MDA-MB-231.[2]

Disease

Papillary thyroid cancer[1] Breast cancer[2]
