| Description | Cutibacterium acnes is the most abundant bacterium of the normal human skin since adolescence, participating in both skin homeostasis and diseases. Skin disease (atopic dermatitis and acne) and body site shaped genomic differences of C. acnes. Integrated genome, transcriptome, and metabolome analysis at the single-strain level unveiled the functional characteristics of C. acnes. To investigate the metabolome of C. acnes in detail, we performed non-targeted liquid chromatography-MS and targeted gas chromatography-MS for SCFAs of the culture supernatants of C. acnes strains matched according to WGS and transcriptome data in the logarithmic growth phase. A total of 101 strains were included after quality control. |
