| Title | Metabonomics analysis: how nanoplastics affect peach tree roots |

| Description | In 2022, global plastic production reached 400 million tons. Microplastic contamination has been found in several countries, including Australia, the United States and China. Natural processes degrade residual mulch in the soil into microplastics. Nanoplastics (NPs) are characterized by their ability to penetrate cell membranes and barriers, threatening human and biological health. However, whether NPs can be taken up by fruit tree roots and the effect of NPs accumulation on fruit tree root growth are unknown. In this study, the interactions between NPs and woody fruit trees were investigated for the first time by metabolomic analysis using different varieties of peaches. |
