| Title | The Research of Knock out of High-Risk Genes for Depression |
|---|---|
| Description | According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), the global prevalence of depression is estimated to be 3.8%, including 5% of adults (4% among men and 6% among women), and 5.7% of adults aged 60 and above. Approximately 280 million people worldwide are affected by depression. With the extensive research on WGAS technology, numerous loci and genes highly associated with depression have been identified. However, there is a scarcity of research on how these high-risk genes influence the phenotype of depression, particularly large-scale validation studies. In this project, we utilize perturb-seq technology to conduct perturbation studies on high-risk genes associated with depression, investigating how the knockout of each high-risk gene at the single-cell transcriptome level induces related phenotypes. |
