Title Analysis of plasma metabolome in PCOS and control group
Description This dataset contains plasma data from PCOS patients and tubal factor infertility controls. Metabolites were extracted using methanol precipitation and analyzed by high-resolution mass spectrometry in both positive and negative ion modes. A total of 921 and 822 ion features were detected in positive and negative modes, respectively, with 37 and 47 metabolites showing significant differences (p < 0.05) between groups. Key differential metabolites included arginine, uric acid, and sphingomyelin. Pathway enrichment indicated alterations mainly in steroid hormone biosynthesis and amino acid metabolism. Combined metabolite analysis yielded an AUC = 0.715 for distinguishing PCOS from controls, suggesting moderate diagnostic potential.
