A single-cell atlas of bisphenol A (BPA)-induced testicular injury in mice

OMIX791

1Summary
Title A single-cell atlas of bisphenol A (BPA)-induced testicular injury in mice
Description Bisphenol A (BPA), a man-made organic chemical widely used in the production of plastics and epoxy resins, has long been recognized as an environmental pollutant, which threatens male reproductive health. However, to date, a comprehensive investigation of cell-type-specific responses and cellular heterogeneity upon BPA-associated testicular injury especially at the prepubertal stage is still quite lacking. In this study, we observed the change of testicular structures for the mouse at the prepuberty stage after 21 days BPA exposure. We then performed single-cell transcriptome analysis of 77,776 cells from testicular tissue of untreated and BPA treated C57BL/6 mice during prepuberty. For the first time, our results show comprehensive information of differential expressed genes, pathways, transcriptional factors, and ligand-receptors in major cell types of testes upon BPA treatment.
