Function

In many plants, bZIP transcription factors have been reported to function in the regulation of seed maturation and germination[1].  Available functional information suggests their role not only in the integration of spatial and temporal information during floral induction, but also in flower development [2].Genetic and molecular studies have revealed their regulatory role in photomorphogenesis and light signaling [3].They also participate in defense against pathogens[4]. Many bZIP transcription factors function in abscisic acid (ABA) and/or stress signaling [5],and a few of them have been shown to be hormone responsive [6]
