Phenotypic analysis
- The leaves of tcd9 mutant appeared albino phenotype before the 3-leaf stage when grown below 24 ◦C, but the 4th leaves gradu- ally turned green and appeared normal green after the 5-leaf stage even at 20 ◦ C (Fig. 1A).
- The color and height of tcd9 mutant was no discrepancy with wild type when grown beyond 28 ◦C (Fig. 1A). Similarly, the contents of Chl a, Chl b, total Chl and carotenoid (Car) in tcd9 plants before the 3-leaf stage at 20 ◦C were drastically lower than those in the wild type plants and itself grown beyond 28 ◦C(Suppl. Table S3); however, the contents were comparable between wild type plants and tcd9 plant grown at 32 ◦ C (Fig. 1B).
- The observations suggested the thermo-sensitivity of albino phenotype in the mutant as 7436S, Fan5, v1, v2 and v3
