Protein-protein Interaction

The main purpose of the Protein-protein Interaction (PPI) module of the Aging-Atlas database is to query protein interaction networks associated with aging and to illustrate the mechanism of cellular senescence at the protein level. Raw PPI data were manually collected from published articles in the aging field and presented in two ways. In addition, all data can be screened and analyzed online. We hope that the PPI module will help you to more convenient explore the changes of protein-protein interaction during aging and to gain a deeper understanding of human aging mechanisms.

1. On the PPI homepage, users can search for interacting proteins of interested protein using the UniProt entry name, get a rough idea of the data collection status and related literatures of the PPI module, and upload data to the Aging-Atlas database.

2. The search results are displayed in the form of interaction tables and interaction network diagrams. In the interactive table, more detailed information is accessible, including the list of interactive proteins, cell/tissue type, publication supporting of the interaction, etc.; In the interaction network diagram, users can visualize protein interaction data, and analyze the selected data using online tools assessing function by GO Term.

3. The download button allows users to scan the list of interacting proteins and related publications. Clicking on the article title, users can learn more about the relationship between protein interactions and aging found in this article.
