The BHBD is a non-profit,non-governmental organization for promoting biodiversity and health big data sharing in the world, under the framework of "Open Biodiversity and Health Big Data Initiative" by the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS).
The National Genomics Data Center (formerly the BIG Data Center) frequently upgrades infrastructure capabilities, currently with 1.6 Gbps network bandwidth, 8000 computing cores, 250 TFlops computing resources and nearly 25 PB storage resources. It provides data storage, computing and sharing services in support of research activities throughout the country. Currently, it has provided services for a total of 79 institutions, having more than 600 active online users per day and involving more than 60 research projects of National Key Research & Development Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, CAS Strategic Priority Research Program, etc.
