In this study, we conducted 16S rRNA gene sequencing of fecal samples obtained from CRC patients with and without distant metastasis, aiming to discern the gut microbiota associated with distant metastasis. Moreover, employing the BIC database, we sought to identify intratumoral microbiota linked to distant metastasis. Concurrently, our study delved into the correlation among gut and intratumoral microbiota associated with CRC distant metastasis, immune-related genes, immune infiltrating cells, and pertinent biological pathways. Last but not the least, leveraging the gut microbiota associated with distant metastasis of CRC, we constructed RF model demonstrating predictive significance. These findings held promise in furnishing novel insights pertinent to the diagnosis and therapeutic management of metastatic CRC. |
