| Description | Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are nanometric vesicles (less than 200 nm in diameter), enveloped by a lipid bi-layer and formed in vesicular bodies with the endosomal network. In this study, we isolated and characterized sEVs directly from fresh human breast cancer tissues (T-sEVs), paired normal tissues (N-sEVs) and corresponding plasma (B-sEVs), meanwhile we also collected sEVs from the paired tumor OTS (S-sEVs) and organoid (O-sEVs) models as well. By examining both transcriptomes and proteomes of sEVs from these various sources, we tried to identify the actual breast cancer-specific sEV signatures, and illuminate the key different features between sEVs derived from the fresh tissues and the commonly used in vitro models. |
