Title Spatially resolved multi-omics decipher cellular responses heterogeneity and metabolic reprogramming in aristolochic acid nephropathy
Description Aristolochic acid nephropathy (AAN), mainly caused by overexposure to aristolochic acid I (AAI), is characterized by acute renal injury, interstitial nephritis, and metabolic dysfunction. Previously, we have demonstrated the effects of AAI on cellular-specific responses, microenvironment remodeling, and metabolic pathways. However, the lack of spatial information in these datasets hinders our understanding of the pathological mechanism of AAN. In this study, by integrating spatial transcriptomics with spatial metabolomics methods, we established a spatial multi-omics analysis that allows for in situ deciphering of region-specific responses and metabolic reprogramming in AAN,providing novel insights into deciphering AAN's cellular and molecular mechanism in the spatial context, pointing out potential intervention pathways to alleviate the global AAN burden.
