Description Single-cell RNA sequencing was performed on intestinal tissue obtained from stage II+ necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) patients undergoing surgical resection and from non-inflamed surgical controls (e.g., intestinal duplication). The immune-cell landscape of the bowel wall was mapped, with particular emphasis on the composition and heterogeneity of tissue-resident neutrophils.
