| Description | To elucidate the functional phenotype of neutrophils in necrotising enterocolitis (NEC), we isolated CD177+ neutrophils by fluorescence-activated cell sorting from the peripheral blood of three preterm infants with surgical NEC and three gestational-age-matched controls. Transcriptomic profiling by bulk RNA sequencing was subsequently performed to delineate disease-specific transcriptional alterations within this neutrophil subset. RNA sequences were trimmed by TrimGalore and mapped to hg38 reference using Hisat2, and the raw count matrix were generated using featureCounts. |
