Invitation Letter for Visa Application

Upon receiving your registration and payment, an invitation letter that is a required document for your visa application is available after you log in the Biocuration2015 Registration & Abstract Portal. If you have any question or concern, please contact us at biocuration2015@big.ac.cn.

Your letter of invitation is intended to facilitate the process of obtaining a visa, not as a commitment of financial support from the conference, nor does it guarantee an entry visa. Obtaining a visa, if needed, is the responsibility of the participant.

We recommend you submit your visa application a month before your planned trip to China.

Flights

As the hub city in China, Beijing is easily accessed by all delegates. Delegates could find non-stop flight or one-stop flight to Beijing.

Arrival

Beijing Capital International Airport is located in the northeast part of the city, ~32 km (~20 mile) to the Conference venue. You are advised to change some Chinese money at the Bank of China Airport Service in the Terminal Building. So as to be able to pay for taxi and other minor costs.

Climate and Clothing

According to historical data, the average temperature during April 23-26 in Beijing is around 15°C (59°F), reaching the maximum at around 20°C (68°F) at daytime and droping down to around 9°C (48°F) at night. The average humidity on these days is around 42%. Click here for details.

Spring in Beijing comes in early April and lasts till the end of May. As mentioned above, however, there is a sharp difference in temperature between the day and the night during the conference dates. To visit Beijing in April, you may need to bring lightweight clothing such as long-sleeved shirts or T-shirts, plus one or two jackets and sweaters.

Currency and Banking

The official name for the currency of China is the renminbi and the ISO code for renminbi is CNY (an abbreviation for "Chinese Yuan"). Foreign currency can be exchanged for CNY at the airport, banks and hotels. Major credit cards are honored at most hotels. Banks usually open at 9:00 in the morning and close at 17:00 in the afternoon all working days.

Electricity

Electricity is supplied at 220V, 50Hz AC throughout China. Major hotels usually provide 115V outlet for razor.

Liability

The Conference Organizers and/or ISB cannot accept liability for personal accidents, loss of or damage to private property of participants, students and accompanying persons, either during, or directly arising from the Biocuration2015 Conference. Participants should make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
