JA-treated leaves from MYC5 overexpression transgenic plants exhibited a precocious leaf senescence phenotype, including a reduced Chl content and lower photochemical efficiency, and it enhanced the JA-regulated expression of senescence-associated genes (SAG13, SEN4, SAG113 and SAG29) and photosynthesis genes (RBCS and CAB1), suggesting that MYC5 overexpression promotes JA-induced leaf senescence. | |
