Azuki bean is one of the most important of the Asian pulses. Annual production is highly variable due to susceptibility to many pests and damage due to cold weather. In order to breed for these agronomic traits linkage maps are needed. Also this linkage map can be used to establish orthologous linkage groups as the first step to take advantage of sequence information from other legumes.
