Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To observe effects of keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) on the proliferation of Hep-2 cell line; the activity and expression of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK).
METHOD: Cell line proliferation was measured by Flow cytometry and MTT assay; ERK activity was measured by ERKl/2 immuno-precipitation kinase assay kit; and p ERK expression was assessed by Western blot.
RESULT: KGF can improve the proliferation of Hep-2 cell line. The intracellular ERK activity and p-ERK expression were increased by different concentrations of KGF.
CONCLUSION: KGF can stimulated proliferation of Hep-2 cell line with enhancing activity of ERK and expression of p-ERK.
