The landscape of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) during mouse spermatogenesis, as well as the biogenesis mechanism and functional implications remain to be explored. Here, we reveal widespread eccDNA formation in mouse spermatocytes, round spermatids, elongated spermatids and sperm cells.
